Energy Talent Search is actively recruiting a highly analytical and results-driven Reservoir Engineer for a leading onshore conventional oil and gas company based in Dallas. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional eager to make a measurable impact on reservoir management and development planning while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
In this critical role, you’ll apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques to evaluate field performance, optimize hydrocarbon recovery, and support long-term asset development strategies. We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and the ability to deliver actionable insights that shape operational and investment decisions.
What You’ll Do:
As a Reservoir Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Reservoir Management: Conduct detailed reservoir studies to evaluate field performance, estimate reserves, and identify opportunities for increased recovery.
Simulation & Modeling: Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models (black oil and compositional) to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
Field Development Planning: Collaborate with geoscientists and drilling engineers to design and implement field development plans, including infill drilling, workovers, and secondary recovery projects.
Production Optimization: Analyze well performance data, decline curves, and pressure-transient tests to recommend strategies that maximize production and efficiency.
Economic Evaluation: Perform reserves and production forecasting, prepare economic analyses, and support investment proposals for new projects and acquisitions.
Data Integration: Work closely with geology, drilling, and operations teams to integrate subsurface and surface data for comprehensive decision-making.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure reserves evaluations meet SEC and SPE-PRMS standards; prepare technical documentation and present findings to management.
Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement new technologies and workflows to enhance reservoir characterization and recovery efficiency.
What You’ll Bring:
We’re looking for a motivated professional who meets the following criteria:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 5–10 years of reservoir engineering experience, with a strong background in onshore conventional oil and gas fields.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Eclipse, Petrel RE) and production analysis tools (e.g., OFM, Aries).
Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of fluid flow in porous media, reserves classification, and economic evaluation.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional quantitative and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations.
Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Detail-Oriented: Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and best practices in all engineering deliverables.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas preferred, but not required.
Compensation & Work Environment:
We value our reservoir engineering professionals and offer a highly competitive package:
Annual Salary: Competitive base salary with performance bonus potential, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with 401(k) with company match.
